Our primary research interests lie in the design and manufacturing of micro/nano-scale structures and advanced sensor/actuator devices, and their applications to the environmental, healthcare, and metaverse systems. Within these research directions, we are mainly working on three following research areas: 1) Micro/Nano-Manufacturing for Sensor/Energy/Soft Robotics, 2) Advanced Sensors for Environment, Healthcare, and Metaverse, and 3) AI + Sensor for Advanced Internet of Things (IoT).

1. Micro/Nano-Manufacturing for Sensor/Energy/Soft Robotics

Developing 2D/3D micro/nano-manufacturing technologies for high performance transducers

<Micro/nano structuring for physical/chemical/bio sensors>
<Rational design of nanostructures for energy harvesters>
<Microstructuring-based shape morphing film for soft robotics>

2. Advanced Sensors for Environment, Healthcare, and Metaverse

Developing advanced sensing mechanism of physical/chemical/bio sensors
Improving sensor performance through the optimization of composite materials and structures

<Bio/physical sensors for healthcare monitoring>
<Wireless sensing platform for pressure injury prevention>
<Physical sensor for multi-directional force sensing>

3. AI + Sensor for Advanced Internet of Things (IoT)

Development of portable sensor control module for wireless communication with IoT platforms
Implementation of biomimetic system and utilization of deep learning for sensor signal analysis

<Integrated sensor control module for IoT applications>
<Bio-inspired artificial olfactory neuron module>
<Micro-LED based ultra-low power e-nose system>
